Solitaire International School

The school is situated in the heart of Panchkula city in Sector 20. A school is the place where a child receives its first education and begins its real development — so the concept was to enable better learning not only through academic study, but also through etiquette, eating culture, potential development and extra-curricular activity: indoor and outdoor play stations, electronic equipment and strength sports.

The building is designed to enable sustainability to be easily embedded within the school curriculum, and staff and users are encouraged to adopt sustainable practices. Adequate space is maintained outside each side of the classroom wings, along with dedicated outdoor space for the nursery. The entry, with a double-height porch and cascading water feature, opens into the reception where parents, teachers, children and visitors enter the facility.

A sweeping crescent-shaped administrative block — entrance lobby, reception, principal’s and director’s rooms, administration and accounts — embraces a landscaped court. Classroom wings, counselling and sick rooms, staff and conference rooms, an activity-cum-day-care room and toilet blocks are arranged along 3.05 m wide corridors. A 762 mm narrow-gauge joy-train track loops the campus, alongside a swimming pool, green areas and a handicap ramp.

Activity rooms include a music-cum-singing room, dance and drama-cum-stage performance rooms and a painting room. The multi-purpose hall hosts parent–teacher meetings, examinations, debates, speeches and annual cultural functions — and doubles as a platform to teach students how to enjoy various cuisines.
